Why Perimenopause and Menopause Occur
Perimenopause and menopause are natural stages in a woman’s life that occur as hormone levels, particularly estrogen and progesterone, begin to decline. Perimenopause is the transition phase leading up to menopause, while menopause is confirmed after 12 consecutive months without a menstrual period.
Several factors can influence symptoms during this time, including:
Hormonal fluctuations
Age and genetics
Stress and lifestyle factors
Sleep patterns
Underlying health conditions
A provider consultation helps assess your symptoms and create a personalized plan to manage changes and improve overall well-being.
