Emergency Contraception
Emergency contraception is a safe, effective way to reduce the chance of pregnancy after unprotected sex, contraceptive failure, or sexual assault. The sooner you act, the better it works — effectiveness decreases with every hour. Herexa provides prescription-strength EC with same-day clinician review and pharmacy pickup.
Emergency contraception does not terminate an existing pregnancy. If you may already be pregnant, contact your provider.
Medical Notice: Prescriptions are issued at the sole discretion of the reviewing physician and are not guaranteed. Consultation fees are non-refundable once physician review has begun.
Emergency Contraception
Medications are prescribed by a licensed physician and dispensed by a licensed pharmacy. Packaging and brand may vary. A board-certified OB-GYN will review your answers before any prescription is issued.
Simple & Secure
How Herexa Health Works
A board-certified OB-GYN will review your answers before any prescription is issued. Our simple 3-step process ensures safe, expert-led care from home.
Understanding Emergency Contraception
EC works by delaying or preventing ovulation — it does not end an existing pregnancy and is not an abortion pill. The prescription option (ulipristal acetate / ella) is effective for up to 120 hours (5 days) and works better than over-the-counter levonorgestrel for women with a higher BMI.
Common Situations for Emergency Contraception
- Unprotected sex within the last 120 hours (5 days)
- Condom broke, slipped, or was used incorrectly
- Missed, late, or incorrectly used hormonal contraception
- Sexual assault
Emergency contraception does not terminate an existing pregnancy. It works by delaying or preventing ovulation before fertilization occurs. If you may already be pregnant, contact your provider.
